Mysticarium

The Mysticarium is a museum in Venice, Italy, that exhibits religious relics and art from the Byzantine and Early Christian periods. It is located in the Dorsoduro district, and is one of the most important museums in Venice. The museum was founded in 1807 by cardinal Giovanni Falier, and is now administered by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia. The building that houses the Mysticarium was designed by Giorgio Massari in the 18th century.

The main attraction of the Mysticarium is the "Transfiguration" by Marco d'Oggiono, a painting of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ that is believed to be the work of Michelangelo. The painting is displayed in a chapel that was built specifically for it. The chapel was designed by Baldassarre Longhena, and is decorated with marble and stucco work. The other main attraction of the museum is the "Pantocrator" by Giotto, a painting of the Pantocrator that is believed to be the work of Giotto. The painting is displayed in the apse of the basilica.

The museum also contains a number of other religious relics and artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and mosaics.
